Thanks to its partnerships with different associations; Babarent funds the construction of wells in the Sahel. These associations operate in Niger's most disadvantaged villages. They provide an essential element to the survival of local populations: water. Water shortage is one of the leading causes of death in the world: More than 30km per day is the average distance that more than 250 million people around the world have to travel daily to access a source of drinking water. By 2020, 2 billion people are using fecal-contaminated water. 840 million people live without drinking water near their homes. 2 million children die from waterborne diseases each year; 600,000 children under the age of 5 die from diseases related to the consumption of improper water, diseases such as cholera and typhoid.Face à ce terrible constat, Babarent s'engage sur le terrain dans la construction de puits sur les territoires touchés par la soif.

Renting a smartphone reconditioned by Babarent also means reducing your carbon footprint from the environment; did you know that it takes the equivalent of 6 tons of CO2 and 10 tons of processed raw material to produce and deliver a new smartphone. In terms of energy your new smartphone will have gone around the globe 4 times before arriving in your store. According to Ademe, only 16% of end-of-use phones are collected and at least 100 million mobile phones sleep in our drawers. Repackaging a smartphone reduces the carbon impact by an average of 2kg per device and 200 Watts of potential energy saved. We call this energy saving and carbon impact reduction rule :"The Co2 Smartphone Positive Impact" (Co2 SPI).
